I always use layer masks around hair and always feather the edges to take away any harshness which makes it look like an obvious cutout...another way is also to change the opacity on the brush so it isn't at full opacity.

Hair is always a problem but its definitely worth working on :D

I read that and wondered if many others might also think it could be a good one to do?

I'll second that motion - hair is always a barsteward to get right.

Even though I've done a few cutouts that have included some hair I don't always get it the way I want it.
So a tut on this by the extraordinarily beautiful and talented Lulu :lie, would be extreeeeeemely useful.:)

i do it different in paint shop, i cut around stuff point to point, with a feather then use the back ground eraser to get fine details

The best tutorials on image extraction i've seen to date is by Russell Brown or Dr. Brown as his known and can be found here....

Pretty sure this has been upped before either by myself or someone else before the site went down. Honestly what this guy doesn't know about PS isn't worth knowing.
Anyone who hasn't heard or seen any of his tutorials before i would recommend paying a visit to his site here....

A tutorial on the perfect layered rip effect where you have a bottom layer say a colour or an image then on top of that, a 3d effect rip tare line which looks raised of the other layer. with a backdrop shadow to give it that 3d effect.
