I like the other spine, but it would of course have to be updated with each new season, if you were to keep the backround intact. Something else that might look good on the spine: Instead of actually having "1", "2", etc on the spine (indicating the seasons), put the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42. This would of course limit the series to 6 seasons, but maybe thayts how many seasons they plan on doing anyways. Either way, when the whole show is over, it will help to finalize the great covers you already have. I am using them in MY collection!
