301 - An Angel At My Table dvd cover
An Angel at My Table is presented in the filmmaker’s preferred aspect ratio of 1.78:1. On standard 4:3 televisions, the image will appear letterboxed. On widescreen televisions, the image should fill the screen. Director of photography Stuart Dryburgh supervised this new high-definition digital transfer, which was created on a Spirit Datacine from the 35mm blow-up interpositive. The transfer was approved by director Jane Campion. Thousands of instances of dirt, debris, and scratches were removed using the MTI Digital Restoration System. To maintain optimal image quality through the compression process, the picture on this dual-layer DVD-9 has been encoded at the highest-possible bit rate for the quantity of material included.
The Dolby Digital 5.1 track was remastered at 24-bit from the original 24 multitrack masters, and audio restoration tools were used to reduce clicks, pops, hiss, and crackle.
